UWW CHARTER HISTORY

Charter "CHiP" Class.jpg

During the Fall of 2018, a group of women saw the lack of multicultural presence, primarily Asian-Americans, in greek life at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The absent opportunity on campus sparked the minds of young ambitious leaders who aspired to make a difference for future generations.

On August 24, 2020, Thirteen Sisters were inducted as the Charter “CHiP” Class. These Sisters are Jessica Aldama, Fatima Barajas, Montserrat Cuevas, Caitlin Horvatin, Lynnette Lee, Gabrielle Palmer, Silinapha Saycocie, Juliana Thor, Malina Vang, Julie Vue, Maikou Xiong, Tiffany Xiong, and Angela Yang. Alpha Phi Gamma National Sorority, Inc. at UW-Whitewater is proud to be established as, not only the first Alpha Phi Gamma Charter in Wisconsin, but the first Asian-interest sorority on campus. These ladies established a legacy of true Sisterhood and resilient leaders among their community.

The UW-Whitewater Charter values Sisterhood, Leadership, and Personal Development. UWW Charter strives to create a welcoming environment for Sisters to foster strong bonds with one another. These Sisters understand the importance of serving the community, as well as bringing awareness to their cultural values. UWW Charter Sisters encourage each other to be the best version of themselves, while also striving to continuously contribute to the greater good of society.
